If SEO management results fall short of expectations, can we cancel and get a refund?

Management services are execution-based: staff and time are deployed in real time. Billing is monthly, and work already performed is non-refundable.

Instead, when results fall short, we respond by re-scoping and adding supplementary work.

Response Options for Underperformance

  1. Re-scoping
    - We shift to higher-impact tasks within the same budget
    - Example: reduce content publishing → strengthen templates and internal linking
    - Example: increase off-page focus → concentrate on domain trust
  2. Additional Supplementary Work
    - We provide a set amount of extra work at no charge
    - Off-page strengthening, additional keyword targeting, and more
  3. Contract Termination Discussion
    - Monthly cancellation is available (typically with one month's written notice)
    - Unexecuted months are not billed
    - Completed work outputs transfer to the client as their assets

Refund Criteria

  • Completed monthly billing: non-refundable, as staff costs are already incurred
  • Prepaid but unexecuted amounts: 100% refundable
  • Unexecuted portion of an upfront deposit: partial refund available, calculated by proportion

Performance Guarantee Policy

  • 238lab does not use absolute claims like "guaranteed keyword ranking." SEO involves many algorithmic variables, making guarantees impossible, and we disclose this transparently.
  • 238lab's consulting success rate exceeds 80% as of 2025. The key variable in that success rate is how faithfully clients apply our guidance.
